On September 10, 2017, the Mission Horse Club Celebrated Mission’s 125th birthday and asked CHHAPS to participate in their one day celebration. The CHHAPS Drill team was happy to participate and performed two demonstrations, at 10:15 am and 12:15 pm, preceded with a short narrative about the history of the Canadian Horse.
The Mission Horse Club featured exhibition riding, petting zoo, farrier demonstrations, horse and buggy rides, craft table and food. There were almost 400 people in attendance with lots of attractions for families. Besides the Canadian Horse, there were 16 other breeds of horses represented in the breed parade, each with an educational component about the breed. We handed out rack cards, ate birthday cake and enjoyed talking to the public.
