Virtual Event For Horses Of Any Breed, Any Discipline
& any location!

We’re taking a break in 2025
Please check back with us in 2026!

From 2020 to 2024, the Canadian Horse Heritage & Preservation Society held the CHHAPS Challenge: “100 Hours in 100 Days” virtual event. Equestrians from throughout Canada and the USA particpated with horses, mules or donkeys of all breeds or discipline. They enjoyed dedicated time to strengthen their skills and partnership with their favorite equines, all while helping an endangered breed. While we regretfully cannot offer the Challenge in 2025, we will maintain the Challenge Facebook pages, where we welcome past participants to share their ongoing achievements, questions, and lessons learned.

Thank you to all participants for supporting the Canadian Horse – a critically endangered breed!

Proceeds from the 2020-2024 Challenges were shared with two non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving the Canadian Horse – the National Horse of Canada:

1. The Canadian Horse Heritage & Preservation Society, (CHHAPS), generating breed awareness through educational activities, events, breed displays and demos at equine expos and fairs.

2. The Canadian Horse Rescue and Rehoming Society, serving at-risk and in-need Canadian horses in both Canada and the US. Thanks to participants and sponsors, the four CHHAPS Challenge events provided significant donations to this registered charity.

Here’s what past Participants shared about their CHHAPS Challenge experience:
  • “This is a marvelous opportunity for the casual rider to join a challenge that is easy to do, encourages participation and is really GOOD for both horse and rider”! ~Challenge survey feedback
  • “My daughter and her horse really enjoyed the challenge. As a parent, watching the bond grow was amazing. Thank you”! ~K.M.
  • “Yes!! This was a great focus for summer activity — and good to “meet” so many other Canadian Horse people and see the variety of activities”. ~K.P.
  • “Well, we didn’t quite make the 100 hours, but I really enjoyed the challenge! I definitely strengthened my relationship with my girl. Thank you CHHAPS for putting this event together. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s posts, photos and progress”. ~B.K.
